US Direct Express payment processor for government benefit checks.

I will say this in the becoming of this post and at the end. DO NOT USE US DIRECT EXPRESS TO RECEIVE YOUR GOVERNMENT BENEFITS. IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO OPEN UP A BANK ACCOUNT I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO DO SO.
Now let me explain why I say so.
US Direct Express is a payment processing company that allows people who don't have
a bank account to receive their government benefit checks using a debit card.
It is easy to sign up for and easy to use and we have used it for many years without
any problems.
However last November 2nd when I attempted to withdrawn my 84 year old mother's benefit
check a Chase ATM malfunctioned and debited my account $603.00 without dispensing the cash.
The receipt the machine gave out was "Unable to give out cash right now call 1-800-935-9935".
Underneath it said error code 90002.
Now when I contacted Chase they informed me that since we didn't have an account at their bank we
would have to contact the card issuer(US Direct Express) to file a claim on the lost money so that
Chase could begin an investigation on the lost funds.
Now this is where my nightmare with US Direct Express begins. Now I never had to contact US Direct
Express for anything in the past so I didn't have any idea how they operated. When you call their
number you are put on hold for at least 45 minutes each time you call.
When you reach somebody they pretend to help you then either hang up on you are just transfer you
to another person and start the process all over again. One female representative pretended that she
couldn't hear me and then hung up on me.
After three days of trying to deal with this rude people I decided to do an online check on US Direct
Express customer service on business review sites. What I found was horrifying. Numerous complaints about these people describing the same exact same issues I encountered. I found that there are hundreds of
people with transaction issues who have been waiting for months for help from these people with no success.
People are being evicted from their homes, losing their heating or light and being unable to buy food for the
the month because they encounter some kind of theft or loss of their government check and these people won't help them.
Now many of these people are elderly, sick and disabled and have no other way to survive other than this monthly check.
So US Direct Express does not care about sick or disabled people. They don't care about anyone. I found one allegation where a person reached out to them for help provided them with some account information and the next day somebody wiped out their account of all the cash that was in there.
I don't know how the government allows a company like this to handle the funds of sick and disabled people.
I don't know what kind of person would take a job where your duty is to ignore the needs of sick
and disabled people many who are helpless to live without government assistance. Anybody who would take a job where your duty is to promote the suffering of the elderly, the sick and the disabled is just plain
evil.

Needless to say we will be ridding ourselves of these demons and opening a bank account for my
elderly mother. Unfortunately there are some people who can't open a bank for various reasons and
are forced to stick with these people. But if you have a choice open a bank account and rid yourself of US Direct Express. YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH THESE PEOPLE. Any money lost are stolen from your account is likely gone for good.
